Go Natural on Delaying Wrinkles

When a face looks older than one expects it to be, wrinkles are most likely to blame. This fold, ridge or crease in the skin typically appears as a result of aging process. It is caused by habitual facial expressions, sun damage, smoking, poor hydration, and various other factors. Since it is a natural part of aging, as one grows older, the skin gets thinner, drier and less elastic which makes it more vulnerable to wrinkles. Collagen that gives skin elasticity is lost overtime.

Although genetics plays an important role in determining skin texture, it can also be attributed to other factors such as habitual facial expressions, sun damage, smoking, and poor hydration. Ultraviolet rays for example can penetrate the skin and damage the underlying collagen and other support staff. Smoking is also considered to contribute a lot to skin aging. This inhibits collagen production which makes up about 70 percent of the connective tissue. When one smokes, the blood vessels constrict and will resist blood flow to the extremities as well as the skin. Nutrients carried by the blood needed by the skin are then deprived and will bring about a negative effect on the health of the skin.

Thousands of people around the globe spend too much on drastic medical procedures as to avoid or eliminate wrinkles. In an ordinary skin treatment, oily facial creams are needed. In the more complicated treatments, intense light rays are used to break up and remove dead and damaged skin. Then the skin appears much younger and healthier. In this generation, it is seemingly acceptable to look younger and hide the age. Many advanced wrinkle treatments and skin health enhancements are available in the market. Many establishments offer packages as to maintain the skin's aesthetically pleasing appearance.

Alternative ways can also be considered. Practicing good nutrition and keeping the skin clean and moisturized can be of great help. A well-balanced diet that includes fruits and vegetables rich in antioxidants can prevent premature wrinkles. When these things are seemingly impossible for the one who has a busy and more complicated lifestyle, facial exercise is recommended.

Everybody knows that exercising can firm up the body and skin. It holds true to the muscles in the face. As the muscles and connective tissue tone, the skin tightens up and becomes more resilient and elastic. That is how these facial exercises work. It is based on a system of a tension and release. It is also possible to manipulate or hold certain areas of the muscle with the fingers which will provide resistance in order for the muscle to work.

Nature has its own course of determining the signs of aging. But no matter how developed these lines are, it is still possible to get rid of them. Facial exercises designed to suit one's need may deprive one of the frustrations and disappointments from results of expensive and complicated facial treatments. Looking good and young is not easy especially when one grows in age. But the application of the right facial exercise can somewhat delay the process and make one appreciate beauty.
