Makeup in powder form that has been made from naturally-occurring minerals found in the earth is called mineral cosmetics. Although it may seem odd at first to think about wearing makeup made from dirt, you may be surprised to learn that mineral face makeup is much healthier for your skin than liquid makeup that is derived from oil. Your skin will feel lighter and more refreshed when wearing mineral face makeup.
When I first tried mineral face makeup, I didn’t like it at all because I wasn’t used to putting on such small amounts of foundation. My face ended up looking off color and rather clownish. I swore I would never use the stuff ever again, and then I saw a special for it on a shopping channel and they demonstrated how to properly apply it. I decided to give it another try.
First when applying mineral face makeup you should apply a quality mineral makeup moisturizer; this step softens your skin and makes the foundation layer go on more smoothly. Another thing is that one should consider purchasing a set of high quality mineral makeup brushes. Sometimes when you purchase a starter set of mineral makeup the set comes with makeup brushes. Do not use the lower priced, cheap ones.
Truth is, that only higher quality mineral makeup brushes work to give a better result as they are a lot different than regular makeup brushes; they have a flatter base. You will find that a better brush smooths makeup onto your face instead of absorbing it into the bristles of the brush and making a mess with the makeup. The shape of a brush has a lot to do with the way that the powder will apply to your face.
When you have used the mineral makeup moisturizer, you should place a small amount of foundation powder on the brush and gently shake off the loose powder and tap it against the makeup container. Then you should apply the make up to the face and watch and be amazed at the results. It takes practice because mineral makeups are a lot lighter than liquid foundations. You will not notice that you have makeup on at all but do not over do it.
If you’ve watched the shopping networks on TV, you’ve noticed that mineral makeups are all the rage. You’ll want to be sure to choose only the highest-quality brands — we all know that cheap makeup never looks good, right? Even the best brands are really not very expensive for what you get, and when you try them you’ll agree that you get what you pay for. I am one bare mineral makeup user who will never go back to liquids!
