Rosacea Treatment: The Natural Approach

About 15 million people in North America are thought to have rosacea. This chronic skin condition affects mostly fair-skinned people between the ages of 30 and 40. However, most of the people affected by rosacea are unaware of it and attribute their symptoms to other problems.

One of the most common forms of rosacea is facial rosacea. It is characterized by:

*having a tendency to blush

*redness of the nose, cheeks, and forehead

*small bumps on the chin, nose, cheeks, and forehead

*small blood vessels on and around the nose and cheeks

The most conventional rosacea remedies include identifying and avoiding triggers, and keeping your core temperature under control. Laser therapy can help eliminate small blood vessels on the nose. Also, rosacea products can help treat the swelling and redness that comes with this condition.

Natural Remedies for Rosacea

Rosacea can also be treated by using a variety of different natural products. In case you're at a loss and don't know where to start when looking for products, here is a list that contains creams, supplements, and natural herbs that can help alleviate rosacea and its symptoms.

*Green Tea Cream

Green tea contains polyphenols, an element believed to improve health. It has shown promise in the treatment of several illnesses such as heart problems, cholesterol and cancer. When used as a rosacea cream it reduces the number of red bumps and pustules that usually appear on the skin.

*Niacinamide Cream

Niacinamide is a form of vitamin B3 that has been used to treat rosacea. It is known to improve the skin's protective barrier, improve the skin's moisture level, and reduce inflammation. Some skin care professionals have also suggested taking oral Niacinamide to treat rosacea.

*Azelaic Acid Cream

This acid slows down the growth of skin bacteria helping reduce redness, papules, and pustules. Azelaic acid cream has also helped reduce the dryness, burning, and itching associated with rosacea. There is one side effect, however, that can result from using this product: stinging.

*Herbs and Plants

Recently several plants and herbs are being used to treat rosacea skin problems. One such product that can help reduce the redness associated to rosacea is licorice.

If you are interested in other plants and herbs that can help treat rosacea, here are a few: rose hip (seed) oil, chamomile, aloe vera, red clover.

*Digestive Enzymes

You may not know it, but some people with rosacea also have indigestion. One recent study shows that rosacea and indigestion can both be caused by a lipase deficiency - or a deficiency of pancreatic enzyme. The subjects being tested were given lipase supplements and both their indigestion and rosacea improved.

*Apple Cider Vinegar

This vinegar helps stimulate the release of digestive enzymes and helps regulate the bacterial balance of the intestines. If you'd like to try it you can take it in liquid or tablet form.

BIOSKINCLEAR is an acne treatment gel that can also help you deal with rosacea. This amazing rosacea treatment cream comes from a family of skin care products that contain snail serum, however, BIOSKINCLEAR also contains licorice root extract to help you deal with your rosacea symptoms.
