The best thing about infrared saunas in my mind is that I can stay I there for at least half an hour and still be able to breathe. I am slightly claustrophobic, so if I have trouble breathing, I’m going to be out of there in a hurry. Because of this, I have a hard time with traditional saunas.
I often do in a regular style sauna. Having just a touch of claustrophobia, I start to get a little panicky if I can’t breathe – so an infrared sauna is definitely an improvement.
The biggest part of the health benefits offered by a sauna is that it makes you sweat, which helps your body to eliminate toxins through the skin – your largest organ. A good sweat helps keep your skin soft and supple.
At the same time, you’ll be sweating out all of the toxins, taking care of the inside and outside of your body at the same time.
While you sweat out all of the poisons, you’ll be cleansing yourself from the inside out. An infrared sauna works in a different way than does a traditional sauna. Instead of steam, they use infrared rays which can penetrate into your body, which produces more sweating and a more efficient cleansing process.
When I tried out an infrared sauna for the first time, I was unimpressed – that is, until about 15 minutes in when I began to sweat profusely. It was truly incredible.
After a quick shower, I felt fantastic. Saunas offer many benefits for physical and mental health. The type of you choose depends on your personal preferences; but the one you feel more comfortable in is the type you will use on a regular basis, allowing you to get the most benefit from your sauna.
And the health benefit is what you want a sauna for after all, that and the deep relaxation they provide you.
