Time To Set Your Goals For Lossing Weight?

by Debi Darline

Everyone considering losing weight should set some goals. Actually everyone should set goals no matter what those goals might be. Most people tell you to set your goal within a limit that you can obtain. We believe that if your goal does not scare the pants off you, then your goal is too low!

Daniel Burham, a famous architect, once said, Make no small plans, they have no magic to stir your blood to action. Make big plans, aim high in work and hope.

Set your goals high!

Put level of successes in your goals! Then step by step!

Now figure out how to measure your progress towards your goals. Your goal must be a measurable goal, like: I'm going to lose 20 pounds, or I am going to get into that size 8 dress for the big Christmas party. Or I am going to ride my bike for the entire 20 mile trail. These goals have measurable values, 1 pound at a time, one inch at a time, or one mile at a time.

Set Realistic time lines! There are no unrealistic goals, just unrealistic time lines!Give yourself time, you will only hurt yourself if you set a unreasonable time line. Also have measurements for your goals. What is your goal for the year? For three months? For the week or for the day?

The American College of Sport Medicine, the largest and most respected health, medical and exercise organization, has established guidelines for weight loss. They recommend a weight loss goal of one to two pounds a week. I know it does not sound like a lot but there are problems with rapid weight loss. The trouble with rapid weight loss is that you subject your body to unhealthy conditions. It would be even better if you set your goal to 0.5 to 1 pound a week. Just to make sure you don't burn lean muscle tissue and damage other organs.

Your goals must be reasonable. No way i can look like Halle Berry . Since I have an athletic build (broad shoulders, slim hips and about 1 inch between my rib cage and my hip bone), the only way to get her figure is die and come back in a different body! So those type of curves (for me) are really not possible. So to be happy , I must be reasonable!

Write down your goals. Now we must put our goals on paper. Start with the most important goal to reach. Add your real emotion to these goals.

Be faithful to your goals, no negatives, just positives, Don't try , Just Do It!

You can reach these goal if your commit to YOURSELF.

Easy, No. But the best things in life aren't. It will be wonderful when you accomplish your goals.
